The Inclusive Play Project hosted its first-ever Kids' Art Exhibition on November 4, 2023, in honor of International Disability Day. This meaningful event took place as part of the City of Kingston's Accessibility Awards Ceremony, creating an inspiring platform for children to express their understanding and perspectives on inclusivity, accessibility, and community.

The exhibition featured a vibrant collection of artwork created by students from local schools, each piece reflecting themes of inclusion and diverse abilities. The children explored what it means to have accessible spaces, friendships, and community support, bringing a unique and youthful perspective to important conversations about disability and inclusivity. Each art piece was carefully displayed, transforming the space into a visual journey of how young minds perceive the importance of creating a world where everyone feels valued and included.

Volunteers and supporters from the Inclusive Play Project helped coordinate the event, assisting with everything from art collection to the setup of the display. They worked closely with participating schools, ensuring that each child’s work was showcased in a way that honored their creativity and message. The exhibition attracted community members, advocates, city officials, and families, all coming together to celebrate the creativity of these young artists and the critical message of inclusivity.

The Kids' Art Exhibition not only highlighted the artistic talents of Kingston's youth but also served as a call to action for a more inclusive society. The Inclusive Play Project aims to make this exhibition an annual tradition, continually engaging young voices and encouraging community-wide awareness on the significance of accessible play and inclusion for all.
